Whilst every dietitian can be considered a nutritionist not all nutritionists are dietitians. The title of being a dietitian is regulated by a governing body, Dietitians Australia (DA). DA requires its members to have undertaken tertiary education which has included substantial theory and has made assessments on professional practice in the clinical setting.
A full list of the skill sets of a dietitian can be found at National Competency Standards for Dietitians.
